Road safety starts with knowledge, responsible decisions and good habits. That is precisely why Autostrada Wielkopolska has become involved in the nationwide \u2018Best Young Driver 2025\u2019 competition, organised by the Polish Motor Association (PZM).<\/h2>\n

The initiative promotes conscious and safe driving amongst young drivers and demonstrates that driving skills involve much more than just knowing the rules of the road.<\/p>\n

\"AutostradaWielkopolska<\/p>\n

The competition is aimed at drivers aged between 18 and 26 who hold a Category B driving licence and have no penalty points. Participants first took an online knowledge test covering road traffic regulations, first aid, eco-driving and issues related to safe driving on roads, including motorways. The top twenty competitors progressed to the national final at the Pozna\u0144 Circuit, where they faced challenging practical tasks testing their driving technique, precision of manoeuvring, ability to control the vehicle in difficult conditions, and first-aid skills. The top two then went on to represent Poland in the global final of the FIA Best Young Driver competition.<\/p>\n

Safe motorway driving as part of the competition<\/h4>\n

This year\u2019s edition of the competition was expanded to include topics relating to the safe use of motorways. These were developed in collaboration with Autostrada Wielkopolska and the \u2018Motorway Driving Course\u2019 programme. Knowledge of the rules for driving on motorways featured both in the qualifying questions and during one of the final challenges.<\/p>\n

This is an important step in the education of young drivers. Although more and more people are using motorways, many new drivers have not previously had the opportunity to gain practical experience of driving on motorways. The ability to merge into traffic correctly, maintain appropriate distances, use the hard shoulder and react appropriately in dangerous situations has a direct impact on the safety of all road users.<\/p>\n

Education as an investment in safety<\/h4>\n

A motorway is not just a fast route to your destination \u2013 it is a place where safety must go hand in hand with responsibility. Autostrada Wielkopolska has for years ensured that journeys along the A2 concession section are comfortable and safe, whilst also engaging in educational projects that promote a culture of safe driving and responsible behaviour on the roads.<\/p>\n

One of the Company\u2019s most important initiatives is the \u2018Motorway Driving Course\u2019, launched in 2021 \u2013 Poland\u2019s first free programme offering practical driving instruction on motorways and expressways. Its aim is to prepare drivers to use high-speed transport infrastructure safely and to build their confidence behind the wheel through practical training led by experienced instructors.<\/p>\n

Over 2,300 participants have already taken part in the free sessions \u2013 including both young drivers just starting out behind the wheel and those with many years\u2019 experience who wished to hone their skills.<\/p>\n

Shared responsibility for safety<\/h4>\n

The partnership in the \u2018Best Young Driver\u2019 competition is another element of Autostrada Wielkopolska\u2019s consistently implemented strategy to support road safety. Alongside investment in modern infrastructure, traffic management systems and motorway maintenance, it is equally important to raise drivers\u2019 awareness and promote good driving practices.<\/p>\n
