More than 30 such terminals have just been deployed on the outer walls of the toll booths at the Toll Plazas in L\u0105dek, Nagradowice, Go\u0142uski and Tarnawa, as well as at the Toll Stations in Jordanowo and Buk.<\/p>\n

The Company Autostrada Wielkopolska decided to install external terminals for contactless payment because we care for the health of both the drivers and the staff of the Toll Plazas and Stations. It will also streamline and expedite the toll payment process. It is important, in the context of the permanent threat from the coronavirus, to create as many opportunities to keep the social distance between people in traffic as possible, says Anna Ciamciak, Spokeswoman for the company Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The external terminals make it possible for the driver on the concession motorway to make a contactless payment, collect the receipt and continue driving.<\/p>\n

Since March, that is since the beginning of the outbreak, drivers have been able to make contactless payments on all 65 toll lanes of the A2 concession section, with the terminal handed to the driver by the toll collector. From now on, a kind of self-service will be available to our customers. All they have to do is to approach a toll booth equipped with an external terminal, place their paycard or their smartphone next to the card reader and it\u2019s done, says Renata Rychlewska, Spokeswoman for the operating company Autostrada Eksploatacja. 32 external terminals have been deployed on 4 or 5 inner toll lanes, therefore the drivers willing to use such method of payment must remember to choose those lanes at the Toll Plazas, she adds.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The external terminals have been located in the mainline at the Toll Plazas and Stations, predominantly on those lanes the car drivers use most frequently. In addition, terminals were also installed at certain Toll Stations – Jordanowo and Buk. At each Toll Plaza and Station the drivers can still use terminals handed to them by toll collectors. In either case, payment requires no PIN confirmation, which is extremely important from the sanitary regime perspective.<\/p>\n

Remembering that it is important to keep sanitary safety both when travelling and in any other situation, Autostrada Wielkopolska and Autostrada Eksploatacja keep emphasizing the importance of all measures aimed at enhancing such safety. Both companies encourage contactless payments on the motorway, but also remind the drivers to disinfect their paycards.
