The main subject of meeting was a discussion about conditions required to achieve the \u201cvision zero\u201d goal of no fatalities on the European roads. Lot of interest was put also on the issue of intelligent systems in modern vehicles. During the time of conference was created a Polish Concessionaire Motorways (Polskie Autostrady Koncesyjne \u2013 PAK) forum that consociates Polish toll motorways concessionaires.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">9th annual conference of ASECAP Road Safety was devoted to issues connected to international cooperation and creation of cooperative politics in rising standards of motorways passage safety as well as exchanging information and experiences between members of the association and Polish road administration. Among attendees of the event were i.a. Szabolcs Schmidt (European Commission, Road Safety Unit, DG MOVE), Jos\u00e9 Braga (Vice-president of ASECAP), Kallistratos Dionelis (General Secretary of ASECAP), Antonio Avenoso (Executive Director of European Transport Safety Council), Konrad Romik (Secretary of National Road Safety Council), Andrzej Maciejewski (Deputy of Head Directior for National Roads and Motorways) as well as representatives of European and Polish concessionaires and also scientific community, drivers and road users.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRegular increase of European roads safety is one of main goals of ASECAP operation. Its execution requires multilateral cooperation of all units and institutions involved to road infrastructure management and constituting the safety principles. Road Safety Conference is an opportunity to exchange experiences, express opinions on legislative solutions and develop common recommendations. 9th meeting has shown that this cooperation is supremely productive and has a great impact on European roads safety\u201d \u2013 said Robert Nowak, vice-president of Autostrada Wielkopolska Inc. Board.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the conference all participants were informed about creation of Polish Concessionaire Motorways (PAK) forum within Lewiatan Confederation. It consociates Polish concessionaires of toll motorways and comprises of Autostrada Wielkopolska Inc., AutostradaWielkopolska II Inc., Stalexport Autostrada Ma\u0142opolska Inc. and Gda\u0144sk Transport Company Inc. The PAK forum aims to rivet mutual cooperation, including realization of collaborative projects to develop and promote safe drivers behaviours on motorways. The forum should also represent interests of its participants in relations with representatives of the public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRoad safety is not only an issue of infrastructure, law or technology. It is also an issue of education, reaching the drivers, increasing the level of their awareness and responsibility. Road Safety Conference is an opportunity to exchange such experiences out loud on an international forum. Polish concessionaires are an example of effective cooperation upon this field and constitution of Polish Concessionaire Motorways forum will certainly contribute to further cooperation not only connected to safety issues but also to a constructive dialogue with the public.\u201d \u2013 said Pawe\u0142 Kocot, a member of Stalexport Autostrada Ma\u0142opolska Inc. Organization that operates uninterruptedly since 1973, consociates concessionaires of toll motorways from all Europe, was initiated by concessionaire representatives from France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Greece, Portugal and Norway. At the beginning of 2016 the structure of ASECAP was enriched by motorway operator from Andora \u2013 d\u2019Envalira Tunnel \u2013 being 22nd member of the association. Autostrada Wielkopolska Inc. as a representative of Gda\u0144sk Transport Company and Stalexport Autostrad\u0119 Ma\u0142opolsk\u0105 is an active member of ASECAP since 2007. Currently all members of ASECAP are managing over 48 thou. km of motorways, bridges and tunnels in 22 European countries. The president of ASECAP in 2015-2016 is Italian, Fabrizio Palenzona (AISCAT). The association aims to raise safety and effective passage management standards, exploitation, building and financing toll motorways in Europe. The statutory goal of ASECAP is also to take an active part in discussions about safety motorways systems development and raising quality of road services with governmental institutions of particular countries and European Union institutions.
