The construction of the 3rd lane of the motorway in the Poznań Krzesiny – Poznań Wschód section is starting. Changes in traffic organization

On 17 June road works will begin on the widening of the Poznań motorway bypass section between the Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód interchanges by including the 3rd lane in each direction. Traffic organization will be changed due to the works. Drivers are asked to exercise caution and follow the temporary traffic organization signs.

This Saturday, 15 June road workers will start placing the elements of temporary traffic organization. Lanes for vehicles traveling on the motorway will be marked out to separate the work area from traffic, and warning, order and prohibition signs related to the ongoing work will be installed.

The first stage of the works will be performed starting from Monday, 17 June, between km 176 (the vicinity of the Krzyżowniki and Tulce Rest and Service Areas) and km 180 of the A2 motorway (Poznań Wschód interchange). The works have been planned so as to be as little inconvenient for drivers as possible. Motorists will have two lanes in each direction at their disposal, however, a speed limit of 80 and 60 km/h respectively has been introduced on the section being upgraded.

Motorists will have two lanes in each direction at their disposal:

Between kilometer 176 and 177 of the motorway:
• Motorists heading to Świecko will drive in the fast lane of the northbound carriageway and in the fast lane of the southbound carriageway (“against the flow”)
• Motorists heading to Warsaw will drive in two lanes of the southbound carriageway (the slow lane and the emergency lane)

Between kilometer 177 and 180 of the motorway:
• Motorists heading to Świecko will use the emergency lane and the slow lane of the northbound carriageway
• Motorists heading to Warsaw will use the fast lane of the southbound carriageway and the fast lane of the northbound carriageway (“against traffic”

• ATTENTION: motorists coming from the direction of Świecko wishing to exit the motorway at the Poznań Wschód interchange to take the S5 route should follow the southbound carriageway, normally intended for driving in the direction of Warsaw. It will not be possible to exit at the Poznań Wschód interchange onto the S5 road from the left lane, routed along the northbound carriageway (“against the flow”).

On this section (between kilometers 176 and 180 of the A2 motorway), the works will continue to be performed during about eight weeks. The above work schedule is subject to adjustment due to weather conditions and other factors.
Let us remember that not only machines, but above all people are working just behind the barriers separating traffic from the construction site. The construction site has been designed and secured with special care, and the works have been planned in compliance with requirements and rules to ensure the safety of workers. We urge drivers to adjust their speed, follow road signs in force and drive carefully. The widening of the Poznań motorway bypass to include the 3rd lane on successive 10 kilometer stretches, i.e. between the Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód interchanges, is aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring efficient, safe and comfortable travel along the A2 concession section. Let us take care together of the safety of road workers during their work.
