Reconstruction of two bridges near Września and Słupca completed

The reconstruction of the motorway overpass near Września (209 km of A2) and the bridge over the Struga Bawół stream near Słupca (225 km of A2) has been completed. Thanks to the investment, the structural parameters and load-bearing capacity of the objects have been adjusted to the current requirements of technical and construction regulations, and cooperation with the public party has made it possible to increase their parameters in terms of load-bearing capacity, among other things.

The motorway overpass, which runs over DK 92, in the vicinity of 209 km of the Autostrada Wielkopolska, consists of two independent structures (one for each motorway lane). In the various stages of the work, it was completely demolished and then a new one was built. For drivers, this meant routing traffic on the northern or southern lane, respectively, depending on the stage being implemented. Similarly, work was carried out on the bridge over the Struga Bawół stream, located near km 225 of the A2. Despite the demanding reconstruction and difficult water conditions surrounding the structure, vehicle traffic on the motorway was maintained throughout the project. The consortium of NDI Energy and NDI S.A. was the contractor for the work.

The modernization of the viaduct near Września and the bridge near Słupca was due to Autostrada Wielkopolska’s attention to maintaining a high standard and safety of road infrastructure. As a result of the work carried out, the foundations of the structures were strengthened, new supports were built, and completely new span structures were created. This allowed the parameters of the rebuilt bridges to be adjusted to the current requirements of technical and construction regulations. At the request of the public party, the scope of work was increased by raising the load-bearing class, so that the structures meet the load-bearing requirements for Class I and for special vehicle loads according to the MLC class.
