Changes in traffic organization – temporary traffic organization between the Poznań Krzesiny interchange and the Krzyżowniki Rest Area

On 2 September, traffic organization will change in connection with the third lane construction in each direction on the Poznań Bypass. Drivers are requested to follow the temporary traffic organization signs, adjust their speed and drive carefully.

The 3rd lane works stage on the northern carriageway (direction Świecko) between km. 175 and km 177 is coming to an end. This Monday, 2 September, the works will be shifted to the southern carriageway. As a result, a change in traffic organization will take place between the Poznań Krzesiny interchange and the Krzyżowniki Rest Area.

Traffic will be routed as follows:

  • Mainline travelers heading towards Świecko (from Warsaw direction) will be able to use two lanes: the emergency lane and the slow lane of the northern carriageway.
  • Drivers heading towards Warsaw will be able to use the fast lane of the southern carriageway and the fast lane of the northern carriageway (“counterflow”). The split will begin around km 176 of the A2.

NOTE: drivers heading towards Warsaw and wishing to exit the motorway at the Poznań Wschód interchange onto the S5 expressway should choose the southern carriageway, generally used for driving in the direction of Warsaw. There will be no exit onto the S5 expressway from the left lane running on the northern carriageway (“counterflow”) at the Poznań Wschód interchange.

Drivers wishing to make a stop at the Krzyżowniki Rest Area (around km 177 of the A2 in the direction of Warsaw) are requested to drive with exceptional caution, as the exit lane has been shortened. Within the area of the works, speed limits of 80 and 60 km/h, respectively, will apply.

Road workers will begin deploying signage and other elements of the approved temporary traffic organization on Friday, 30 August.

Please remember that u-turning and reversing on the motorway is prohibited and may lead to extremely dangerous situations.
The widening of the Poznań bypass to include the third lane in another 10 kilometers, i.e. between the Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód interchanges, is aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring efficient, safe and comfortable travel along the A2 concession section. Provided all works are completed as planned, by the end of 2025 drivers will be able to use a total of 26 kilometers of safe and comfortable three-lane section of the Autostrada Wielkopolska motorway.

Spot. Slow down

Please be aware that working behind the barriers separating traffic from the construction site, are not only machines, but more importantly – people. The site has been designed and secured in accordance with the requirements and rules ensuring safety of workers, but that safety also depends on drivers. Therefore, we draw drivers’ attention to driving safely, adjusting speed, obeying road signs and being attentive.
The widening of the Poznań bypass to include the third lane in another 10 kilometers, i.e. between the Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód interchanges, is aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring efficient, safe and comfortable travel along the A2 concession section. Road workers are working hard to ensure that drivers have three lanes in each direction on time and by a certain deadline. Let’s pull together to ensure the safety of road workers performing their job.
