A2 Świecko - Konin | Every kilometer matters
There are already three lanes in each direction and brand new pavement on the entire width of both carriageways ready on the Poznań Bypass, from Poznań West (Zachód) Interchange to Poznań Krzesiny Interchange. This weekend the contractor will launch new Temporary Traffic Organization and commence works due to which the motorway bypass of Poznań will offer all three lanes to users.
Since this Saturday, 30 November between the Interchanges of Poznań Luboń and Poznań Krzesiny, drivers heading to Świecko will use two lanes of the northern carriageway with some traffic disturbance from time to time, as the road marking will proceed. Warsaw-bound drivers will return to the southern carriageway which remained a job site for the past weeks. Emergency lanes will also be available to drovers in both directions.
– This Temporary Traffic Organization launched in late November is the last change on the Poznań Bypass. We kept our fingers crossed for the weather, because we had a goal of substantially completing the works in the entire 16-km stretch of the bypass site by the end of November. We were successful and now new pavement is ready on three lanes in both directions. We made it! – says Michał Pabich, Project Manager on behalf of Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A.
The Temporary Traffic Organization Scheme effective as of 30 November in the section Poznań Zachód (West) – Poznań Krzesiny:

– We also have some more good news for the drivers. Very soon it will be possible again to enter the motorway towards Warsaw at Poznań Luboń interchange. This means, in practice, the traffic organization will be restored the way it was before the construction, with drivers having two lanes in each direction on both carriageways at their disposal. It must be noted, however, that until the third lane is opened to traffic, this section will still remain a job site, where the speed limit of 70% applies. The last stage of works deals with the median strip and involves elimination of the temporary crossings and mounting the guard rails – explains Marcin Szczepański from Strabag Sp. z o.o.
The works at the Poznań Bypass commenced 8 months ago. This has been the first project in Poland of this type performed under traffic. All this indicates that due to exemplary planning and performance of works, already in December (half a year before the final completion deadline), drivers will enjoy a three-lane Poznań Bypass opened to traffic.
Opening of the third lane in both direction in the section Poznań Zachód (West) – Poznań Krzesiny will be possible after the acceptance procedure, as well as the required administrative procedures are successfully completed. Ion the first half of 2020 works will be continued outside the mainline, thus causing no significant traffic disturbance. Completion of the entire Poznań bypass extension project has been scheduled for June 2020.
