The first comprehensive mobile Guide of the European roads in Poland! Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A. created the „A2 TO EUROPE” application.

Caring about the drivers who will go skiing during winter holiday, Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A. launched  „A2 TO EUROPE”, the first comprehensive application of that type. The Internet guide allows for calculating the cost of the trip to the most popular European skiing resorts. In addition, the users will receive essential information on travelling in a given country and may use a virtual breathalyser to blood alcohol concentration level. serwis moto.pl. is the partner of the Project.

„In April 10 years will have passed since Poland’s accession to the European Union. For a decade already Polish drivers have been able to freely travel all over the united Europe without any restrictions. In November 2011 Autostrada Wielkopolska connected Poland to the European motorway network, and the Polish motorways became a part of the transeuropean transport corridor. We wish to ensure not only safety, but also comfort of travelling in European countries,  by creating the first comprehensive knowledge base in Poland enabling easier and more conscious use of foreign motorways by drivers.” – informs Zofia Kwiatkowska, AWSA Spokesperson.

Using the A2 TO EUROPE application we will inform drivers about:
1. length of the planned route
2. cost of trip to a selected European tourist location, including:

• tolls/vignettes
• fine rates
• estimated cost of necessary fuel

3. speed limits binding in a given country
4. important telephone numbers (emergency lines, consulates etc)
5. mandatory vehicle equipment in a given country
6. promile info –  the application was extended to include a virtual breathalyser which based on the data entered provides the driver with a calculation of estimated alcohol content in the body and time necessary to wait before the user may safely drive a vehicle.

Moreover, „A2 TO EUROPE” also contains a geolocation mechanism used by the application to send driver information package concerning the country where the AWSA internet guide user is currently located. It is also possible to select the country from a list of available States.

In addition, on AWSA Facebook social profile an information campaign shall be carried out to enhance the drivers’ awareness and educate them how to travel on European routes, observe binding regulations and driving culture.

During winter holidays AWSA will also encourage drivers to carry out preventive sobriety tests using the virtual breathalyser provided in  „A2 TO EUROPE”.
