Autostrada Wielkopolska was awarded with a title “Those Who Change Polish Industry” for effectiveness and consistency in implementing motorway projects and for setting a perfect standard for projects executed under a Public-Private Partnership.

Justification:
“A modern A2 Motorway section from Nowy Tomyśl to border town Świecko, built in conformity with the best engineering practice and ecological standards, has a symbolic significance of opening the road for Poland to the West.
The motorway concessionaire is Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A., where Kulczyk Holding, Meridiam and Strabag are the main shareholders. Works were completed six months ahead of schedule.
Motorway functioning has its economic dimension – each kilometre generates nearly one hundred jobs, and the investment activates the region and stimulates economic outlook.
The new A2 section was constructed in a Public and Private Partnership system (PPP). The project was financed mainly from loans from the European Investment Bank, eleven Polish and foreign commercial banks and from the concessionaire’s funds.
The project implemented by Autostrada Wielkopolska is a proof that motorways in Poland can be constructed quickly and efficiently – to enable effective catching up with the rest of Europe in that respect”.
